Hyperbrowser vs Human Browser: a browser platform or a task API

Hyperbrowser sells cloud browsers, scraping and hosted agents in credits on monthly plans. Human Browser takes a task in plain English and runs it on a real Chrome with a residential IP, pay as you go.

$0.10 per browser-hour, billed per second, plus $0.02 per agent step with the AI included. No subscription. First top-up can be $1.

The short answer

Pick Hyperbrowser if

  • you drive browsers from your own Playwright or Puppeteer code;
  • you want a scrape or crawl API next to the browser, at $0.001 a page;
  • you need 25 to 1,000+ concurrent browsers, or SOC 2 and HIPAA on Enterprise.

Pick Human Browser if

  • you want to send a goal and get the result, not build the agent loop;
  • you want residential IP at $4/GB with no monthly plan;
  • a person sometimes has to step in through a live viewer, and you do not want to pay for that time.

What a task costs

The median task on our production (132 successful customer tasks, Sep 2026) took about 8 agent steps and cost $0.24 all-in at today's rates. Both services charge $0.10 per browser-hour and $0.02 per hosted agent step, so a 20-step task is about $0.40 plus browser time on either. On Hyperbrowser you add proxy data at $10/GB and need at least the $30 Startup plan for proxies and captchas; here residential traffic is $4/GB with no plan. The numbers are close for agent work. The difference is the shape: a monthly plan with credits against a prepaid balance with no plan.

What it looks like in code

Send a task
curl -X POST https://agent.humanbrowser.cloud/a2a \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer hb_live_xxxx' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{
    "jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "method": "message/send",
    "params": {
      "message": { "role": "user",
        "parts": [{"kind":"text","text":"Open news.ycombinator.com and return the top 5 story titles as JSON."}] },
      "metadata": { "country": "us" }
    }
  }'
Poll for the result
curl -X POST https://agent.humanbrowser.cloud/a2a \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer hb_live_xxxx' -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tasks/get","params":{"id":"<task id from result.id>","wait_seconds":30}}'

The response carries a task id and a viewer_url. Full reference in the docs, or use the MCP server from Claude, Cursor or Codex.

FAQ

What is the difference between Hyperbrowser and Human Browser?

Hyperbrowser is a cloud browser platform: browser sessions you drive with Playwright or Puppeteer, a scrape, crawl and extract API, hosted agents (HyperAgent, Browser Use, OpenAI, Claude and Gemini computer use) and sandboxes, all paid in credits. Human Browser does one thing: you send a task in plain English over A2A or MCP, our agent drives a real Chrome on a residential IP, and you get the result with a live viewer URL.

Is Hyperbrowser cheaper than Human Browser?

On list prices they are now close. As of Sep 2026 Hyperbrowser charges $0.10 per browser hour (100 credits at $0.001 each), the same as our $0.10 per browser-hour. Their hosted agents add $0.02 per step for HyperAgent or Browser Use, or token charges for computer-use models; ours is $0.02 per step with the model included. The differences are residential traffic ($4/GB here against $10/GB) and the plan: Hyperbrowser needs a paid plan for proxies and captchas, we have none. On our production the median task took about 8 agent steps and cost $0.24 all-in.

How do proxies compare?

Human Browser residential traffic is $4 per GB, on by default, 75 countries. Hyperbrowser proxy data is $10 per GB (10,000 credits), and proxies need a paid plan.

Do I need a subscription for Hyperbrowser?

Captcha solving and proxies need a paid plan: Startup is $30 a month with 30,000 credits and 25 concurrent browsers; Scale is $100 a month with 100,000 credits and 100 concurrent browsers. The free plan has 5,000 credits and 1 concurrent browser. Credits bought outside a plan expire after 12 months. Human Browser has no plan: top up from $5 and the balance does not expire.

Which has more concurrency?

Hyperbrowser: 25 concurrent browsers on Startup, 100 on Scale, 1,000+ on Enterprise. Human Browser: 10 per paid token. For large fan-out jobs Hyperbrowser scales further today.

Can I use my own Playwright code with Human Browser?

No. Human Browser is goal-level only, with no raw CDP endpoint. If you want to drive the browser from your own code, Hyperbrowser, Steel or Browserbase are the better fit.
